Age 86, passed away on Sunday, at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Odell and Pearl (Olson) Camren in DeForest. She married Harold Weichmann and they were blessed with four children. On September 3, 1966, Harold passed away unexpectedly. Through her brother and sister-in-law, she met James Gullickson, who was a high school classmate and a bachelor. On August 4, 1967, James and Dorothy were married and Dorothy and her three youngest children moved to the Gullickson home farm in DeForest. Dorothy and James were blessed with a daughter, Jenny. They later sold their DeForest farm and bought a farm in Kennan. In 1986, they moved back to DeForest where they lived and worked on the Rademacher farm. In 1996 they moved to Marshall where they fully retired.
On February 1, 2009, James passed away and Dorothy remained in her home with the loving help of her daughter, Jenny, her other children and family members.
Dorothy loved to cook and bake, collect dolls, spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved animals. She also loved to quilt. She and Jenny helped in creating hundreds of quilts that were given to the needy through Spring Prairie Lutheran Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; daughter-in-law, Terry Weichmann; sister, Berdell “Toots” Opsal; brothers, Harold “Fuzz” Camren, Odell “Pete” Camren, Jr.; and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
