He married Mary Freeman, daughter of John and Mercy (Watson) Freeman 11 November 1738 Rochester, Massachusetts. They moved first to Hardwick where Roland purchased land on Moose Brook near Barre, Massachusetts, and then to Greenwich after 1771. Church of Christ records for Greenwich show a death date for Roland of 13 March 1784.
