James Bailey
MONROE, Or., April 14,-(Special)-James Bailey, 80, died yesterday at his home here. He was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., coming to Harrisburg, Or., in 1889, and to Monroe in 1890. He was married to Miss Alice J. Lemon in 1891, who survives him. A son, Lynn Bailey, and daughter, Mrs. S. H. Turner, live here. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episciopal Church tomorrow at 2 P.M. Internment will be at the Monroe Cemetery.
NOTE:
When Monroe was incorporated in 1913, Mr. Bailey was unanimously elected in May of the same year as Monroe's first mayor and served for several terms.
