Pat was born to Nellie and Leon Harold (Mickey) Douglas on May 24, 1937 in Emmett, Idaho. Following her parents' separation and her mother's remarriage to Thomas (Bud) Kilgore, the family moved to the Deer Park, Washington area. On her 18th birthday she moved back to Indiana to live with her father, Leon Douglas. There her two older daughters, Marilyn and LaVonne, were born. LaVonne passed away in infancy. Pat married Leo Akers and had two more daughters, Terri and April. They raised Terri and April in the Deer Park, Washington area, where they operated a Morgan Horse Ranch and expanded it into Clayton, Washington. Pat was a country girl at heart and liked life on the ranch; she loved horses and animals of all kinds. She was a poet and enjoyed writing her poetry. In her later life she married Jim Rogers; they were together as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Nellie and Bud Kilgore; her father, Leon Douglas; her former husband, Leo Akers; daughters, Marilyn and LaVonne; several brothers, Carl and Jim Kilgore and Jimmy Douglas; sisters, Carol McGee and June La Prade; and many aunts and uncles. Pat is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Terri and April; brother, Bill Kilgore; sisters, Ruth Johnson, Nancy Kilgore, Kathy (Shorty) Poffenroth; eight grandsons and many great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
