Services for Vela Irene Jernigan, 78, of Indio, will be at 11 a.m Wednesday at the Fitzlenry Funeral Home Chapel in Indio. Miss Jernigan, a native of Wannette, Okla., died Monday in Indio. She was active at the Church of the Nazarene in Indio, working with children and teaching Sunday school Survivors include her brother. Marvin Jernigan of Indio Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Coachella Valley Cemetery
