A president of the American Bowling Congress. Businessman in Tulsa.

Retired secretary-treasurer of the Oklahoma Steel Castings Co., and former president of the American Bowling Congress, died of cancer in his home at 2848 E 27th St in Tulsa OK. A veteran bowler, he served as president of ABC, considered the largest sports organization in the world, in 1948-49. He also was a founder, past president and longtime secretary-treasurer of the Southwest Bowling Association. He was also past president of the Downtown Cosmopolitan Club, its "most outstanding member" in 1956, and former governor of the Southwestern Confederation of Cosmopolitan Clubs. He was a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. He was with Oklahoma Steel Castings nearly 25 years, retiring in 1947 and later was part-time president of the Cast-Master Fishing Reel Corp. in Tulsa. He began bowling in 1905 and helped organize several bowling leagues after moving to Tulsa in 1924. His first top-flight bowling position was that of president of the Oklahoma Bowling Association in 1934. He headed the Tulsa Bowling Association the next year. After helping organize the Southwest Bowling Association in 1934, he served at its helm four years. But he did not consider himself a star tenpinner, since his average was 173 in one league and 162 in another. He also enjoyed big game hunting and took trophies during many trips. He lived in Dardanelle, AR before moving to Tulsa.

His children are sons Lloyd and Ralph, daughters Grayce Marion (Baston) Gwin and Anne Louise (Baston) Millsap. Lester enjoyed entertaining his 12 grandchildren.
