Jack Leroy Clark

HARPSWELL — Jack Leroy Clark, 73, longtime resident of Harpswell, formerly of Brunswick, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Togus. He was born Oct. 30, 1940, in Pembroke, ME, a son of Ralph “Cappy” H. and Nellie (Newcomb) Clark. He was educated in Maine schools and graduated from Pembroke High School in 1958.

Jack served in the United States Air Force for 21 years retiring in 1979 having served during the Vietnam era in Vietnam and Thailand. Following retirement he worked for 16 years as the parts manager at Bath Subaru and then worked for several years at both, Casey’s Wood Products in Wiscasset and at Bath Auto Parts in West Bath.

Jack was a private man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a hard worker and was always there to lend a helping hand to his circle of friends on any project that needed tending to. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jeanne M. (McLean) Clark of Harpswell, a son, Timothy D. Clark of Brunswick, two daughters, Susan A. Utley of South Berwick and Nancy J. Smelcer of Westport Island, ME, two brothers, Herbert Clark and Donald Clark, both of Charlotte, ME, three sisters, Doris “Dot” Corthell, Mary Mahar, and Norma Cushing, all of Pembroke, ME, and five grandchildren.

Private interment services will be held in Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Augusta.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home in Brunswick.
