Ada B. Chávez, age 87, beloved and devout wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2014, with her family at her side.
Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chávez and grandson, Angelo Chávez.
Ada is survived by her nine children, Kathleen Chávez, Olivia Díaz, Claudia Gonzáles and her husband, Lawrence, Anna Sánchez and her husband, Sam, Barbara Rios and her husband, Rick, Chuck Chávez, Dianne Troyer, Dominic Chávez and Diana Armijo and Leroy Chávez and his wife, Beth, 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, brother, Dennis Baca and sister, Dolores Armijo.
Ada and her husband Charles were founding members of St. Anne's Catholic Church and were also in the Altar and Rosary Society as well as the church choir. Her family will miss the wonderful meals as well as life lessons she shared.
A viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with a rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Ulibarrí, Robert C. Díaz, Miguel Lueras, Aaron Springer, Alfredo Rios and Wesley Chávez. Honorary pallbearers will be all remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's School Fund, 324 7th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
