LAKE GENEVA-Harry A. (Slim) Doane, 75, former Lake Geneva resident and retired Wisconsin Power & Light Co. engineer, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning in his home at 4240 Beverly Road, Madison. Born Oct. 6, 1889, in Malta, Ill., the son of Charles and Jeannette Morey Doane, he married Katherine Napper Sept. 1, 1927, in Rockford. He was an electrical engineer with the Wisconsin Power & Light Co for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1955. The couple had lived in Madison 21 years. Mr. Doane was a veteran of World War I, a member of Frank – Kresen Post, American Legion, Lake Geneva, and the WP&L Pioneers Club. Surviving are his wife; one brother, J. Milo Doan, Sycamore, Ill., and two nephews. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
