She was a native of Patterson and a resident of Glynn County the past 35 years. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women, where she was a music major and sang in the A Cappella Choir. She retired from the Glynn County school system after teaching more than 20 years. She was a member of Patterson Garden Club and various professional teacher organizations.
SURVIVORS: daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Tyre and Terry K. Floyd of St. Marys and Robin and Wain Strickland of Brunswick; grandchildren, Catherine Lindsey Floyd and Nathan Tyre Floyd, both of St. Marys, and Zachary Tyre Strickland of Brunswick; and six nieces and six nephews.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home, burial at 4 p.m. in Patterson Cemetery. Savannah Now, Nov 1998
