Aaron John Halverson, 63, of Greendale, formerly of Strum, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona.
Aaron, the son of Bert and Alma (Johnson) Halverson, was born November 7, 1950, in Whitehall.
After graduating from Eleva-Strum High School in 1968, Aaron lived and worked in Iowa and Indianapolis before joining the U.S. Navy on October 27, 1972. He served on the USS Coronado. Aaron was honorably discharged on October 20, 1976.
After the service he settled in Milwaukee, and for the next 30 years he worked for Astronautis Corp of America, first in production and later as an inspector of gyros for the aircraft industry.
Aaron was a member of American Legion Post 16 in Cudahy. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and playing golf in his free time.
Aaron is survived by his sister, Ramona (Howard) Hanson of Strum; brothers, Dennis (Ellen) Halverson of Strum and Daniel (Pat) Halverson of Osseo. He is further survived by his special friend, Carol Wenzel of Milwaukee and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Aaron will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum with the Rev. Dawn Pederson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Strum.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Friends may also call from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Villa and St. Croix Hospice for the care given to Aaron.
Memorials to the family are preferred.
