Adeline T. "Cookie" Stauber, 78, formerly of Rickard St., Cortland, passed away April 7, 2014 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center Nursing Facility. She was born September 24, 1935 in New Hyde Park, Long Island, daughter of the late William and Adele Miller.
Cookie was a registered nurse who worked for Cortland Home Care for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved to watch western movies. She always looked forward to the large yearly family reunion and going on her trips.
She is survived by her children, Judith (Richard) Dugas of Cortland, Bruce Stauber of Cortland, Richard (Denise) Stauber of Albany, William (Terry) Stauber of Longwood Fl., Susan (Mike Little) Stauber of Cortland, Robert (Kathy) Stauber of Homer, Gary (Penny) Stauber of Cortland, Thomas (Victoria) Stauber of Cortland, David (Bonnie) Stauber of East Freetown, 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, her siblings Frank (Joann) Miller of Commack NY, Bill (Marilyn) Miller of Wantagh NY, Victor (Helen) Miller of Holbrook, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Jack "Hot Tar" Kozer, great grandchild Gary, daughter in law Diane Stauber, siblings Lorraine Lang, Doloris (Arthur) Zerbe, and Albert (Gladis) Miller.
Calling hours will be Friday 11 am-12:45 pm with a funeral service to begin 1 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
