According to her 1915 marriage application, Carrie's parents were Nathan Asbur[y] King and Laura Hicks. Her parents both died in 1893, when she was just two years old. In 1900, Carrie King was living with Charles and Carrie Williams and listed as a foster child. In 1910 she is still with them and Charles is listed as her step father. Carrie seems to have taken the Williams surname at some point, as her son's birth certificate gives her maiden name as Carrie King Williams, and her death certificate gives her parents' names as Charles Williams and Carrie Thompson. I don't know if they officially adopted her, but the Williams were probably the only parents she knew.
