Services for Shirley Hamilton, 79, Overton, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 1, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with Reverend Atwell Hankins and Reverend D. L. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery, near Troup.
Mrs. Hamilton died Sunday, September 28, 2014 in Henderson.
She was born April 2, 1935 in Overton the late James and Dorothy Enid Berwald Rothrock.
She was a lifelong resident of Overton and married Harry Glen Hamilton May 1, 1954 in Concord and she was a homemaker.
She enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in the yard and she loved her animals.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harry Glen Hamilton, Sr. on July 13, 2011.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harry Glen Hamilton, Jr. and wife Kathy Hamilton, Henderson, and Mickey Hamilton, Overton; a brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry David and Judy Rothrock, Longview, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carroll and Dean Jenkins, Jacksonville, and Delores and Bud Barnhart, Gilmer; four grandchildren, Holly Hamilton, April Dygert, Tim Hamilton and Matthew Hamilton; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Dygert; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tim Hamilton, Matthew Hamilton, Greg Hamilton, Mike Hamilton, Clay Irwin and Mark Stewart.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 30.
