At the time of his death Albert was married to Lovena (Lusher) Mitchell Wetherholt, but they were each buried with their first spouse.

Albert retired from C&O Railroad and was a member, former trustee and choir director of Susannah Missionary Baptist Church, Ona. He died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, in Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
