He was born August 9, 1935 in Providence, RI, the son of the late Ralph F. Bodette Sr. and Alma (Brooks) Bodette. He had lived in Warwick, RI for many years, was a 1953 Graduate of Aldrich High School in Warwick, RI. He later earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Bryant College in Smithfield, RI.
Ralph had worked as a Detective with the Warwick Police Department climbing up through the ranks and served as Commander of the Department retiring in 1982. In 1990 he and his wife Doris moved to their home in Wolfeboro, NH.
He had served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne, deployed overseas to Japan. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, (FOP), and a member of the American Legion, Harriman Hale Post 18, Wolfeboro, NH,
Ralph had also coached Ice Hockey, Little League baseball. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, he loved to camp, and was an avid reader. He was also a Civil War enthusiast.
He and his wife Doris had always enjoyed spending their winters in Venice Florida.
Ralph is survived by his wife 53 years, Doris S. Bodette, Wolfeboro, NH, their children Joseph Bodette and his wife Judith,; Darcy Nardella and her husband Paul and Andrew Bodette all of MA. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Nicole and Nathan Bodette and Brandon, Lindsay, Jack and Mitchell Nardella; a sister Barbara Malo, Alton, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 11-12am at Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 1:00pm at St. Katharine Drexel Church, Bridget’s Way, Alton, NH. Burial will be in the South Wolfeboro Cemetery, Middleton Road, Wolfeboro, NH.
