Another old citizen has passed away and was laid to rest on Wednesday last. Henry Edward Groff saw the light near Baltimore, Md., Sept. 10, 1834. Later he moved to Indiana, where on April 14, 1858, he married Miss Clara Otterman, who survives him. In September 1884, he came to Ellis county, Kansas, and in 1902 moved from his country home to Hays. He died March 6th at 7 p.m. at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 26 days. He lives a widow, five children and numerous grand children to mourn his loss. Mr. Groff was well known in our community and will be greatly missed. We offer our sympathy to the bereaved family.
