Ida Whitaker, 90, of St. Louis, formerly of Iberia, died Monday, Feb. 4, 1991 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis. She was born May 9, 1900 near Iberia to Henry and Martha Morrow Humphrey. On June 2, 1919 she was married to Walter Whitaker, who died Sept. 22, 1964.
Mrs. Whitaker lived at Iberia until 1968 when she moved to Cuba, Mo. and then she moved to St. Louis in 1989. She was a member of Brays Advent Christian Church at Iberia.
Surviving her are a son, Spurgeon Whitaker of Iberia; a daughter, Anna Lee Allen of Cuba, Mo.; Katie Rowden of Iberia; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brays Advent Christian Church near Iberia with the Rev. Randal Hoffman officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of Stevinson-Mossman of Iberia.
