Funeral services for Arthur E. Ord, 61, 716 Seventh St., S., Nampa, who died at his home Tuesday, will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Alsip Funeral Chapel. James Kotler, a member of the Bishopric of the Sixth Ward LDS Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Kohlerlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Ord was born Jan. 24, 1904, at Nephi, Utah, and attended Nampa schools. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1926 and went to College at Eugene, Ore., where he was sponsored by Nampa businessmen in athletics there. He played football.

After college, he was employed by the C. C. Anderson Co, (the present I.D. Store), at Nampa. He worked there 28 years. Ill health forced his retirement in 1959.

He married Orma Applegate in 1928 and she preceded him in death Dec. 2, 1960.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Reed, La Grangeville, N.Y.; four brothers, Marion Ord, Maywood, Calif., LaVell Ord, Long Beach, Calif., Melvin Ord, Walla Walla, Wash., and Elden Ord, Camino, Calif.; three sisters, Ella Higginbothem, Escalon, Calif., Wanda Stebbins, Modesto, Calif., and Erma Snoberger, Eugene, and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Whelsel Ord.
