The parents of John Chapman III were John Chapman Jr, 1750 Loudon County, VA to Nov. 15, 1836 in Wilkes County, NC. Mother was Leanah Brown, 1763 in Rowan County, NC to 1842 in Wilkes County, NC. John married Mary 'Polly' Marley 27 Jul 1807 in Wilkes County, NC: Bm. John Chapman. Mary (b: 1785 d: after 1870 in Lawrence Co. IN.), was the daughter of Henry Marley & Maria Jane (Bray) Marley.
