Obituary published Wednesdy, September 18, 1985 in the Paducah Sun:

Carl E. Adams, 93, Mayfield died Tuesday at Community Hospital.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Maureen Copeland Adams; two daughters, LaVelle Purdy of St. Louis [1913-2013], and Terri Davis of Greensburg; two sons, James Adams of St. Louis, and Wavel Adams of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Fronie Miles of Murray; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A retired employee of the Missouri-Pacific Railroad, he was a member of Sinking Spring Baptist Church.

[I have not been able to find any information of daughter Terri. Another daughter, Brenda Mavis Adams Parmeley (1925 - 1976) died in Orange County, California. Nor have I been able to find death or burial information on Dula]
==============================================================================
My great-uncle Carl's first wife was Dula M. Jackson, whom he married on 7 August 1910 in Henry County, Tennessee. She was the mother of Lillie LaVelle, b. 30 Mar. 1913; of James Miller, listed; and Mary Margriet, b. 2 June 1918, d.12 July 1920. Carl, Dula, and the three children are on the 1920 Census for Calloway County. Wavel was born in 1921, so I would assume she was his mother, also. Don't know what happened, whether death or divorce, but Uncle Carl was married one or two more times before Maureen Copeland.
