ANADARKO - Reuben Ahhaitty Jr. "Punkie," 61, Anadarko, went to be with the Lord on Thursday Sept. 25, 2014, with his family by his side.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at J.J. Methvin Methodist Church, Anadarko, with the Rev. Mike Boyiddle and the Rev. Kathy Waters, Lay Speaker Donnie Ahhaitty and the Rev. Rudy Tartsah officiating.
Burial will follow at Samone KCA Family Cemetery, Carnegie, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at J.J. Methvin Methodist Church.
Reuben was born to the late Rev. Reuben Ahhaitty Sr. and Bessie Silverhorn Ahhaitty on July 7, 1953, in Lawton. He loved to "hang out" in his backyard with his friends David Stephenson, Marty Williams, "Beetle," Justina Blackbear, Victor Ahtone, "Bud A," and numerous other friends. He was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe. He graduated from Carnegie High School in 1971 and attended Electrician Tech School in Wichita Falls, Texas. Punkie was a proud Carnegie Wildcat and OU Sooner fan.
He is survived by his mother, Bessie Ahhaitty, of the home; daughters: Pamela Jo Ahhaitty and companion Vernon Redbone, and Kimberly Ann Topaum and husband Ty-Doe; stepdaughter, Jennifer Tanequodle; sons: Reuben Ahhaitty III and Punkie Ahhaitty; stepson, Alan Wheeler; 11 grandchildren; sisters: Verna "Suzanie" Fitzpatrick, Mary and husband Glen Jones, Jody Ahhaitty-Tiger, Carol Ahhaitty and companion Darrell "Bo" Westselline, and Cindy Ahhaitty-Satoe; and brothers: Donnie and Margaret Ahhaitty, Charlie and Annabelle Ahhaitty, Gary and Marta Ahhaitty and Randy and Laura Ahhaitty.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reuben Ahhaitty Sr., sisters: Kay Lynn Ahhaitty and Debra Jean Ahhaitty; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his ee-sah-dah, Eugene "Sonny" Tiger Jr.
Pall bearers: Cory Ahhaitty, Brent Ahhaitty, Dewayne Ahhaitty, Jordin McCarty, Michael Mithlo Jr., Jory Tiger, Randy Ahhaitty Jr. and Jaren Satoe.
Honorary pall bearers; "Bud-A" Victor Ahtone, Michael Washington, Kenny Silverhorn, David Stephenson, Darren Luther and James Dale Tofpi.
