Devona Marie Smith was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Peachtree, Ark., a daughter of Odie and Laura Ann Johnson Brightwell. On Jan. 24, 1931, in Poughkeepsie, Ark., she was married to William “Fred" Smith, who died April 1, 1967.
Devona died Sunday, March 18, 2003 at the Rest Haven Convalescent Home, aged 91 years. She is survived by two sons. Donald and Bobby Smith, three daughters, Freda Morrison, Patricia Heine and Judy Schroder, and a brother of Nebraska.
