AMESBURY, MA: Ralph A. Soper, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, September 22, 2014, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

He was one of nine children born to the late George and Hazel Soper and was the beloved husband of Linda (Lyn) Soper for over 20 years. Ralph will always be remembered by his devoted brothers, Eugene, Doug and Dennis; loving sisters, Dorothy (Dot), Evelyn and Carolyn; beloved children, Fran and her husband, John Blackington, Paula, Joe, Laura and Amy; his much loved nieces and nephews, his treasured 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his late brothers, Carl Soper and Donald Soper and his late daughter, Tammy Kozak.

Ralph touched the lives of many people with his smile, generosity and peculiar sense of humor that kept family and friends on their toes and always guessing if he was serious or joking around. He donated blood to the American Red Cross for over 60 years and received a “Citation of Recognition” from the City of Amesbury and the Amesbury Police Department in 2013.

Thank you to Billy and Rose Soper for being there to help Lyn and Ralph during his final years.

Memorial services will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers, on Friday, September 26, 2014, from 4 to 6 p.m. to which all are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation information will be available at the visitation.
