A.L. Stocklin Dies Suddenly Thursday Night

Friends here were shocked today to learn of the passing of Arthur L. "Bud" Stocklin, well-known Havre native, near Devon on Thursday night. Up to the time of his death, Mr. Stocklin was apparently in good health. He was the superintendent for the O'Neil Construction Co. of Havre, having been employed by the firm for over a year. The construction company is completing a highway construction job in the Devon area.

Mr. Stocklin's wife and family were in Whitefish at the time of his death. Survivors besides Mrs. Stocklin include two children; Mr. Stocklin's mother, Mrs. Emma Stocklin of Havre; and two brothers and four sisters. Mr. Stocklin's father, Adolph Stocklin, pioneer Hill county stockman, died in 1934.

A man well versed in construction work, Mr. Stocklin started work for the city of Havre in July 1937, serving as a foreman. He went to work for Hill county as superintendent of roads in June 1952, and left in April 1955, going to work for O'Neil Construction Co.
