Funeral services for Frank L. Cassaretto, native and long-time resident of Groveland, were conducted in Piedmont last week. Mr. Cassaretto died March 6 at his home in Piedmont after an extended illness.
He was the eldest of nine children in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Cassaretto, pioneer Tuolumne County residents. He operated a general store in Groveland during the period of construction of the Hetch Hetchy project. His father had also operated the store for many years.
Mr. Cassaretto had made his home in Piedmont for the past several years.
Survivors include his wife, Lula of Piedmont; daughters, Iola Soderstrand of Oakland and Maxine Cassaretto of Piedmont; sister, Mrs. Levenia Stanley of Oakland; brothers, Fred of Stockton, Harry of Oakland and Joseph of Groveland; and two grandchildren.
All people named above have since passed away.
