Daughter of Arthur Carl and Myrtle Alfreda (Carlson) Mattson, she was born June 6, 1915, at Loomis, Neb., and spent her early years in Norton County. She had lived at Salina and Hays before moving to Topeka 11 years ago. Mrs. Nelson had worked in the business office at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, before her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, the church women's group and the church choir at Topeka. She was a member of the American Medical Assistants.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth, of the home; two sons; a daughter; a brother, Virgel Mattison, Vancouver, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Sleffel, Norton; Mrs. Mary Ann Clinger, Ansley, Neb., and Mrs. Farrell Broeder, North Platte, Neb.
