Thomas E "Ed" Cheyney, 85, Kansas City, Kansas, died January 2, 1988 at Providence-St Margaret Health Center. He was born in Brookfield, Missouri, and lived in Kansas City, Kansas most of his life.
Mr Cheyney worked for the Sewell Paint & Varnish Company in Kansas City [MO] for forty-four years and retired in 1967. He was a past master and life member of the Wyandotte Masonic Lodge, a life member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, a past patron of the Medias Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Kansas City, Kansas. He was a member of the Stephens Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Berniece C Cheyney of the home; a son, Ronald E Cheyney, Candler, North Carolina; two daughters, Arleyne Hogan, Leavenworth, and Colleen Cook, Kansas City, Kansas; three stepdaughters, Rexine Masters, Lorene Smith and Jacqueline Phillips of Kansas City, Kansas; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 am Wednesday at the Porter Chapel; burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday at the chapel, where Masonic services will be at 7 pm. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas Masonic Foundation Inc, PO Box 1217 Topeka, Kansas 66601.
