FUNERAL NOTICES:

The funeral of the late John C. Ridder will take place Tuesday morning from the residence, 840 1/2 Broadway, at 9:30 o'clock with burial in Calvary cemetery. The remains may be viewed this evening at the residence.

From a second funeral notice, in The Quincy Daily Herald, Wednesday, October 30, 1918; page 9:

"Mr. Ridder was one of the twelve charter members of the Broadway Merchants' Association, and was the first of its number to be called by death. Members of the association acted as the casket bearers."

John C. Ridder.

John C. Ridder, for ten years connected with the Ridder Bicycle shop at Ninth and Broadway, died at his home, 840 1/2 Broadway, at 1:15 o'clock Saturday afternoon, after an illness of one week from influenza and pneumonia.

He was born in Quincy July 30, twenty-eight years ago, and had always resided here. In November 1917 he was married to Miss Josephine Altgilbers, and the widow, with his mother, Mrs. Mary Ridder, one brother Carl with the United States army in France, and three sisters: Augusta, Elnore, and Mildred, at home, survive, with a large number of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Ridder was a member of St. Boniface church.
