Our Friend - Margie Eckelbarger

Violet and I along with Daniel (Kimber was unable to make this trip) were so pleased to have the opportunity to spend some time with Margie this past summer.

Through life there are so many people that come into our lives leaving us with variety of emotions and memories. Margie however, is one that stands out. I was only 25, young in life and ministry. The Lord knew that

Violet and I needed this woman with her love and compassion in our lives. A tremendous Saint of the Church of God. Margie, the able Matriarch of her wonderful family blessed our family in so many ways. Even as I type, I look at classic books written by written by Church of God pioneers of years past that were given me by Margie.

We will never forget how over those first several months of our ministry in Redding, Margie along with Fred would stop by dropping off milk and other grocery items.

What a blessing and example. Her faithful service in the Kingdom and of God's people - loving and caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren - teaching Sunday School - playing the piano - serving on the board - graciously and sacrificially financially underwriting the work of the Church of God in Redding - and loving and supporting her Pastor and his family. Her prayer for me and all who are reading or hearing these word's have provided and sustained us in ways we may never know.

Please join me as the words of Scripture affirm our regard and love for Margie Eckelbarger; A capable, intelligent, and virtuous women - who is he can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her valor is far above rubies or pearls. She comforts, encourages and does only good.

Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoice over the future {the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it}!

Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain {Because it is not lasting}, but a women who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praise!

Many have done virtuously. nobly, and well, but you Margie excel them all. (taken from Proverbs 31, Amplified Version).

Our love and prayers are with you Carol, Rick, Johnny, Lois, Lori, David, Jimmy, Freddy, Sonya,April and all the family. Thank you for sharing your Mother and Grandmother with us - we are truly grateful.

Love Jim, Violet, Daniel and Kimber
