Monte Vista resident Abel A. Archuleta, 70 departed this life September 16, 2014 at the family home. Abel was born on November 28, 1943 to Jacob and Catalina (Vigil) Archuleta in Monte Vista, CO

He was a retired farm laborer/mechanic. His hobbies were woodworking, drawing, gardening, but most of all spending time with his loving family and friends.

Abel is survived by four children: Annabelle Valdez of PA; Michelle (Julio) Pando, Alex (Keysha) Archuleta, Jason (Sheila) Archuleta all from CO; Mother of his children Elizabeth Atencio Archuleta of CO; Penny Gallegos (long-time friend) of CO. 17 Grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 Brothers and 6 sisters: Rebecca (Pimenio) Leon; Jake (Josephina) Archuleta of CO; Romain Archuleta of CO; Elise Padilla of CO; Manuel (Sabina) Archuleta of CO; Mary (Ralph) Garcia, CO; Georgia (Allen) Tommy of CO; Tony (Jeannie) Archuleta of North Dakota; Gloria Archuleta of AZ, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was proceeded in death by parents; siblings: Maria Archuleta, Mary Archuleta Linda Archuleta, Juan Archuleta, Juan Arturo Archuleta; Nephews Randy Archuleta, Juan Archuleta, and Grandson Jacob Abel Valdez.

Abel was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The Archuleta Family would like to thank Hospice De Valle for their care.

A Rosary will be held on Mon, Sept 22, 2014 at 7pm. at the St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Monte Vista, CO. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10:00am also at the St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Monte Vista. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista.
