HAWK RUN - Funeral services for Kenneth L. Turner, 67, of Hawk Run will be held Friday, Jan. 8, 2010. at 1 p.m. at Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with the Rev. William R. Walker officiating.
Mr. Turner died Monday, Jan. 4, at 3:05 p.m. at his residence.
There will be no public visitation; however, the family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 8, from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born June 12, 1942, at Thomaston, Ga., he was a son of Carl and Annie Margaret (Shamley) Turner.
He was a Christian by faith.
Mr. Turner was a professional musician and singer for many years, operating his won band mainly in New York and New Jersey.
He was a 1960 graduate of Carteret High School, Carteret, N.J.
On Jan. 13, 1965, in New Jersey, he wed the former Eva M. Pettinato, who survives at home.
Surviving are five daughters, Jeanine Emigh and her husband, Edward, of Hawk Run, Jacqueline Mostyn and her husband, Paul, of Hudson, Philipsburg RD, Ava Selepack and her husband, Daniel, of Allport, Kelly Swartout and her husband, Wesley, of Stroudsburg and Kennie Williams and her husband, David, of Tyrone; and one son, Joseph Turner and his wife, Barbara, of New Brunswick, N.J.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Kenneth Emigh, Ryan and Kelly Joe Mostyn, Brandon and Morgan Selepack, Eva Marie Swartout, Lily, Dane, Jack and Max Williams and Jessica Turner; and a sister, Vivian Witte of Thomaston.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Frank J. Paulette and James Turner.
The family suggests contributions be made in Mr. Turner's memory to Eva Turner, 76 Glastonbury St., Hawk Run, PA 16840.
