Leon Alexander, 75, a retired welder's helper, died November 6 of an apparent heart attack at the home of his daughter in McComb. Services were November 6 at Calvary Baptist Church, Pricedale, with the Rev. Norman Crochet and Rev. Albert Wilkerson officiating. Burial was in the Boyd Cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Alexander was born October 17, 1908 in Pike County and worked with the Freeport Sulphur Co. He was the widower of Myrtie Boyd Alexander and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons; Dale Alexander, Port Arthur, Texas, Lee Alexander, Tylertown, and M.D. "Pete" Alexander, Pricedale; three daughters, Claudine McCullough, Pricedale, Willene May, McComb, and Linda Pigott, Pearl; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie King Knight, McComb; 19 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
