Mrs. Maggie Geisler Dies
Mrs. Maggie Geisler of Concordia died Sunday, May 5 at St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of two months. She was 78.
Mrs. Geisler was born June 4, 1895 at Downs, Kan., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Young. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
On December 18, 1916, in Kansas City, Kan., she was married to Edward A. Geisler.
They lived in Downs, Beloit and Jewell communities. Mr. Geisler died March 9, 1941.
Mrs. Geisler came to Concordia from Downs in 1957.
Survivors are 14 children: Helen Nicholson, Margaret, now Mrs. William Mossburgh, Mary, now Mrs. Marvel l. Gray, Charles E Geisler, Velda, now Mrs. John May, Clarence D. Geisler, Kenneth T. Geisler, all of Concordia; John H. Geisler, Valdez, Ala.; Gladys, now Mrs. Mason Thomas jr., Glasco, Abraham l. Geisler, Olympia, Wash.; Emma, now Mrs. Paul T. Tressler, Mohave, Calif.; Eugene V. Geisler, Grand Island, Nebraska.; Louise, now Mrs. Elwyn Pricey, Delphos; and Robert J. Geisler, North Bend, Ore. Also surviving are 36 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon in the First United Methodist Church in Concordia with the Rev. Robert Fleenor officiating. Burial was in the Downs City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Pricey, Scott Geisler, Steve Geisler and John May jr.
Chaput Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
