James Foster, the son of John Foster and Jennie (Batt) Foster, was born May 17, 1923 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He departed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on September 19, 2014, at his home at the age of 91 years.

James was married to Martha (Wolf) for 54 years and to this union four children were born, James Pete, Jack, Mary and Jacqueline. He was a member of the Echota Baptist Church where he served faithfully. He was a wonderful father and grandfather to his family and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

James worked ten years for Kansas City Southern Railroad in his earlier years. He was a rancher, carpenter and he also worked at Wauhillau and Maryetta as a school bus driver. He later worked at Rocky Mountain School as a night watchman and from there he retired to spend more time with his family and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie Foster, his wife, Martha, his brothers, Wilson Smith and William Foster, his sisters, Nannie Shell, Grace Foster and Susie Quinn and two grandchildren, Jamie Foster and D.J. Foster.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his children, James Pete Foster and wife, Shari, of Stilwell, Jack Foster and wife, Paula, of Porter, two daughters, Mary Foster and Jacqueline Foster, of Stilwell; three granddaughters, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Ellis Foster and a host of nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
