Due to complications of a stroke, Thomas Hart Brown, 71, completed his earthly life on October 6. Born in Payson, Utah, May 8, 1934, the only son of Hart Brown and Lillian Gray Brown, he married Shirlene Johnson in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A local businessman in Payson for 38 years, he owned Owning Browns Billiards. He was always willing to help someone out who was a little down on their luck or just needed a loan until pay day. Growing up in Payson and attending Payson High School, everyone in town knew Tom for he was a friendly people person.

Passionate about sports, especially basketball, he was a die hard University of Utah, Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz fan. His favorite players were Larry Bird, John Stockton and Jeff Hornicek. Never finishing the season lower than second place, he played and coached a very successful basketball in the Central Utah League for years. Tom was also passionate about his race horses. It was a thrill to train and race his horses for over thirty years.

His wife, Shirlene and children: James Hart Brown, Cheryl Turner and Gary Joe Brown survive Tom.
