Born Oct. 16, 1904, in Bloomington to Herbert E. and Jessie J. Smith Adams , he married Ruth A. Carnes on Sept. 22, 1927, in Galesburg. She died July 10, 1993, in Peoria.
He also was preceded in death by an infant daughter; one son, Larry; Barbara Janik, whom he and wife raised; two sisters; and one brother.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Max (Joyce) Luking of New Haven, Ind.; Shirley Knell of Peoria, whom he and his wife raised; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald of Peoria.
He was employed as a sales representative for Business Equipment Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of Howett Street Christian Church.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
