Bob Ervin, 63, passed away September 22, 2014. Born August 30, 1951, in Centerville, IA, Bob grew up on the family farm just west of Jerome, where his deep-seated love and caring of family and friends was founded. Shortly following graduation from Seymour HS, and attending college at NE Missouri State and ISU, Bob established Appanoose County Ambulance, the county's first paramedic-level ambulance service. His career, which included 25 years of Ambulance service for local Iowa race tracks, always embraced his core belief of "Love one another". Whether providing nursing care, realtor service, or taxi service, Bob was always highly regarded as a "people" person.

Bob is survived by his wife Connie; sons Rob(Jenn)of Grapevine, TX; Jeremy of Ankeny; and Jacob of Van Meter; daughters Rene'(Ray)Wilkening of Knoxville; Nicole(Todd)Capps of Winterset; and Olivia(Kyle)Lehman of Clive; sons Jonathan Stone of Ames; Derek Stone of Iowa City; brothers Don(Karen)of Otho; Max(Mary)of Centerville; and Jim(Cheryl)of Huxley; 8 grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Dorothy Ervin of Centerville.

A visitation with family is scheduled at the First Christian Church, 2500 University Ave, Thursday, September 25, from 5-6:30 pm with a memorial service immediately following. Interment will be held in Jerome, IA, Friday, September 26, at 11 am. Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital and may be sent in care of Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, IA.
