Sarah Frances Bleckley Fisk spent most of her life in Silver Spring, MD and had lived in Anchorage, Alaska, Savannah, GA, Clewiston, FL and Los Angeles. CA. She was a daughter of the late Jasper Hoten, Sr and Icie Darnell Bleckley, and a grand daughter of the late Albert Asbury and Sarah Hopper Darnell and the late Joseph Frank and Josie Beck Bleckley.
She was a graduate of Rabun Gap Nacoochee School and a graduate of Rabun Gap Nacoochee Junior College where she received her teaching degree. She was an Executive Administrative Assistant for the U.S. Government with the Department of the Army and Department of Agriculture and received numerous distinguished awards from both departments.. She was a member of the Marvin Memorial Methodist Church in Silver Spring, MD, a Volunteer for the National Kidney Foundation. She was honored to have lived in the Washington, DC area and participated in many political functions including those in the White House and various Embassy’s.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Jim Ed, Jack, and Jasper “Junior” Bleckley; sisters, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Williams, Viola P. Bleckley and Martha Sue Bleckley. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Wayne Fisk; two daughters Sarah Diane Pate and Katherine Frances Lee Loganville, GA; three grand children, one step grand daughter, and one great grand child.
