Berry L. Ijames, age 76 of Piedmont, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at his home near Piedmont.

He was born May 28, 1938 at Mill Spring, the son of Glen and Bertha (Bilbrey) Ijames.

He entered the Marine Corp in 1956 and was honorably discharged as a Cpl in 1958. Berry was married to Joann Loos December 29, 1958 in St. Louis and worked for many years in construction and the Teamsters in St. Louis.

After retiring, he and Joann moved to Piedmont where he was a member of the Piedmont Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Glen and Bertha Ijames, 6 brothers, Bill Joe, Burton, Ira, Maurice, Bobby and Bernie Don Ijames, 1 sister, Clara Jane Brandon, and 1 grandchild, Nicole Ijames.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Joann Ijames, of Piedmont, 4 children, Beverly Ijames, of Pevely, Russell Ijames, of Hillsboro, David Ijames,of Herculaneum, Maurice Ijames and his wife Julia, of Hillsboro, 1 brother, John Ijames and his wife Virginia, of St. John, 4 sisters, Annalee Norman, of Chesterfield, Betty Kackley, of Piedmont, Glenda Junge, of Maryland Heights, Sue Schaedig and her husband Jerry, of St. Charles.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Morrison-Worley Chapel in Piedmont with Damon Ijames officiating. Special recorded songs were played and David Ijames gave the eulogy.

Steven Ijames, Russell Ijames, David Ijames, Maurice Ijames, Berry Ijames and Collin Ijames served as Pall Bearers. Graveside Honors were given by the US Marine Corp and the Missouri Honor Guard.

Interment was in the Carson Hill Cemetery under the direction of Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel.

Memorials have been requested to the Piedmont Church of Christ or The Leukemia Foundation.
