A. Kathryn Ridgley, 79, of 471 Nelson St., died at noon Friday, Dec. 4, 1992, at home.

Born April 1, 1913, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bess McCans Ridgley.

She was a life member of Zion Reformed Church, a former Sunday school teacher, secretary of the Sunday School Board of Control and treasurer of the Women's Guild. She was also a member of American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 1507, Kittochtinny Historical Society and the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees.

A 1931 graduate of Chambersburg High School, she graduated from Shippensburg University (then Cumberland Valley State Normal School) in 1933.

Miss Ridgley was employed by the state Department of Health in Harrisburg as clerical supervisor for 38 years. She retired in 1982.

Surviving are a sister, Bess R. (Mrs. Joseph) Walck of 606 E. King St.; a brother, Charles H. of 473 Nelson St.; and a nephew.

Burial will be Tuesday in Lincoln Cemetery.
