Shirley Sue Lazzeri, age 83 of West Frankfort, passed away at 3:03 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Herrin Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Union Funeral Home of West Frankfort with Rev. Jason Ishmael officiating. Burial will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Shirley was born on October 18, 1930 in Christopher, the daughter of George T. Drake and Verla (Murphy) Drake. She married Kenneth Lazzeri on November 14, 1948 and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1981.

She worked as a sales representative with the S.I. Trader, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of West Frankfort.

Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid bingo player at the Knights of Columbus Hall in West Frankfort.

Mrs. Lazzeri is survived by two daughters: Kathy Crawford and husband Scott of West Frankfort, Becky Johns and husband Eric of Marion; five grandchildren: Kristin Kliethermes & husband Tom of Lawrence, KS, Nick Norobich and wife Megan of West Frankfort, Elizabeth Brown and husband Jeremy of Lubbock, TX, Will Warfel and wife Alana of Lewisville, TX, Scott Warfel and wife Meggan of Tulsa, OK; eight great-grandchildren: Lucy Kliethermes, Elanor and Josiah Brown, Hope and Drake Warfel, Addelle Warfel, Sarah and Thomas Levanti, and one additional grandson to be born in December; a brother John Drake and wife Bobbie of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Gene Warfel, two brothers Charles and Walter Drake, and an infant sister Alice Drake.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus Hall #111 of West Frankfort, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
