Husband of Rachel (Starks?) Trammell, who survived him by over 45 years. She is buried in the Trammell Cemetery along Jellico Creek. (Some researchers give her maiden name as Holt, but no evidence has ever been shown for this. At least one source indicates she was a Starks).

James' headstone is the oldest surviving intact headstone in Scott County.

Burial marker for James Trammell. This is the older part of the Angel Cemetery. His sister & her husband are thought to be buried to the side of his burial plot. Many unreadable field stones & markers, plus numerous sunken spots of graves. Oct. 2020.

Burial marker for James Trammell is on the LH side about half way up. The top has been knocked over, probably by cattle that have been in the cemetery. Lots of unreadable stones (260+) & sunken grave areas in this old rural cemetery. Oct. 20, 2020.
