Robert Robbins Church was born Nov. 27, 1827 in Cumberland County, PA to Robert R. Church and Matilda Bigler. His siblings were: Adaline d.1838 (LeRue Lehmer Sr), George H 1820-1885 (Emma), Henry 1820-1850 (Julian R Reninger), Matilda 1824-1908 (George Rankin Nebinger), Cathareine 1827-1858 (Col. Benjamin F Lee), Mary C 1828-1913 (1st Dr William John Henderson, 2nd John White Geary, 3rd Henry Ernest Goodman), and John B 1833-1903 (Elizabeth Brenneman), and his half siblings were Lockwood d 1847 and Comfort R 1842-1861.

Robert Church married Catherine Shelly Smith and had an unknown child and Robert Shelly who died 1854.

From the Cumberland Historical Society: The Old Cumberland Cemetery is no longer there and bodies at the Old Cumberland Cemetery at 524 Marker St. were removed to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, York County in 1872. (There are 4 Mt Olivet's at York County, PA)

The last will and testament of Robert R. Church written July 1, 1852, proven Sept. 14, 1852..
In the name of God Amen. I Robert R. Church of New Cumberland, Cumberland County, Penna. being sick by of sound mind do make this my last will & testament. First I give and bequeath to my son Robert Shelly Church the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred dollars to be paid by my executor as soon after my decease as practicable. To my friend Augustus H. Shott of Middleton Dauphin County PA whom I hereby nominate constitute and appoint the guardian of my said son Robert Shelly Church and I desire said sum to be invested for the maintenance, education &c. of my said son during his minority and when he arrives at the full age of twenty one years the proceeds of the balance to be paid him. Second The balance of my estate of whatever kind I may be possessed, real personal or mixed I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Catharine Shelly Smith Church for her own use, to be disposed of as she may deem proper. Third I hereby name and appoint my friend Henry Smith of Lower Swatara Township Dauphin County, PA my Executor.

This 14th day of September A.D. 1852, Before me A. L. Sponsler Register for the Probate of Wills and granting letters of administration in and for said county personally came Lewis Willet and John Ringland the two subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the Last Will and testament of Robert R. Church late of New Cumberland deceased who being duly appointed according to law depose and say that they were present and saw and heard the testator R. R. Church sign seal publish pronounce and declare the same as and for his last will and testament and that at the time of his so doing he was of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief and that they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses at the request of the testator in his presence and in presence of each other.

Be it remembered that on the 14th day of September A.D. 1852 the last will and testament of Robert R. Church late of New Cumberland dec’d was legally proven and letters testmentry issued therein to Henry Smith the Executor therein named.
