She was the daughter of Lieut. General Edward M. Almond. In 1942 on USMA Graduation Day she married Thomas Taylor Galloway, who she had met at the beginning of his first class year. Three days after their marriage they reported for duty at Ocala, Florida. In 1943 they became the parents of a son. Captain Galloway died in July 1944 in France. She accompanied her father to Tokyo where she met and married Charles Marshall Fergusson Jr., USMA Class of 1942, on April 28, 1947. They were the parents of three children, including Margaret's son from her first marriage who adopted the Fergusson surname.
