Harold N. Nitschke, 81, of 125 Chancellor Drive, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Jan 26, 1996, in Chambersburg Hospital. Born in September 1914 in Fremont, Ohio he was a son of the late Otto and Pearl Artz Nitschke. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Employed by the federal government for 40 years, he retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1971. He was a member of Letterkenny Officers Club and BPO Elks Lodge 600, Chambersburg. Surviving are his wife, Mary Shockey Ebersole Nitschke; three sons, Dr. Lonnie of Fremont, Roger of North Little Rock, Ariz., and Steven of El Paso, Texas; a daughter, Judith Lee of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a stepson, Dr. John S. Ebersole of Guilford, Conn.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Genson of Avon Park, Fla.; and nieces and nephews. A daughter preceded him in death. Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home Inc., 297 Philadelphia Ave. The Rev. Donald C. Nolder will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg 17201.
