Norbert Smolke, 24, of Dodgeville, son of Alvis and Esther (Bluhm) Smolke, of Prairie du Chien, was killed instantly Saturday night when his motorcycle struck a tree on a road near Oconomowoc, WI.
Smolke's wife, Helen, checked with police when he failed to reach home when expected and he was found by them.
Norbert graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1964 and had just moved to Dodgeville from Wausau to be the assistant manager of the Thorp Financial Company Office there.
He is survived by his wife Helen (Hafs); a son, Russell Mark age 2; his parents; a brother Glenn and sisters Kathleen and Donna (Paul) Mara and a grandmother, Mrs. Henry Bluhm Sr.
