John Frederick Marks died suddenly Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Hamlow, northwest of town.

Mr. Marks was born Feb. 6, 1872, In Edwards County, Illinois, son of Charles Edward and Amelia Marks. He came to Central Illinois about 30 years ago and had resided in Heyworth most of the time since.

He married Miss Diana Rogers April 14, 1897. She survives, with four children: Earl and Mrs. Niva Swartz of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Ruth Hamlow and Mrs. Veta Powell of Heyworth.

Two children died In infancy.

The sisters, Mrs. Anna Gill and Mrs. Alice Lorngbons of Albion and Mrs. James Ely of New Harmony, Ind., also survive. There also are four grandchildren.
