June 22, 1883

Died - at Centerville, Ia., at her home, surrounded by family and relatives on Friday, June 15, 1883, Mrs. Abiah R. Earlywine, wife of Col. Nathan Earlywine.

The deceased was the aunt of T. E. Sargent, Esq., of this city, and leaves many friends and relatives to mourn her loss. She had long been an honored and respected member of the Presbyterian church of this city. "None knew her but to love her," and many are the sad friends and aching hearts that follow her in their memory to her last resting place. "I am glad that she has lived thus far and glad that she has gone to her reward." One by one the old landmarks are passing away and the fact comes to each and every one of us with a more vigorous reminder that all things must pass away-"the old must die, the young may die." Our information is, that the good old lady, died with a full hope that her Redeemer liveth and in Him she had found "rest beyond the river. To the aged, tottering and grief stricken husband, we offer condolence, and to the friends, and relatives, our hope is that you may all meet Albia "over there."

*Nathan Earlywine married Abi Mcgowin in Rush Co., Ind. on 22 Dec. 1835.
