Kenneth Ohlin Holt, 76, passed away at his home Tuesday, March 14, 1995, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born April 21, 1918 in Salt Lake City, a son of Charles William and Edith Ohlin Holt. He attended Salt Lake schools and graduated from West High.

Ken married Mary Verdell Taylor on August 5, 1938 in Salt Lake City and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked for Standard Oil Company in Salt Lake before moving to Clearfield in 1946. He owned and operated Ken Holt Company (tire and automotive business) in Ogden, Kaysville, Clearfield and Layton for 40 years. He was well-known in the tire industry throughout the intermountain area. He was a Clearfield City Councilman, Chamber of Commerce president, and served two terms in the Utah State House of Representatives.

He was an active member of the Kaysville 8th LDS Ward and served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing and especially spending time at his summer home in West Yellowstone, Montana, with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Kaysville; son, Gordon K. (Nancy), Kaysville; daughters, Claudia (Lue) McCann, Kaysville; Rebecca (Dave) Peart, Mandeville, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; eight step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild; one brother, Robert, Salt Lake; two sisters, Ruth (Don) Dahlquist, Salt Lake; and Blanche (Jim) Record, Riverton. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 1995, at 11 a.m., at the Kaysville LDS Rock Chapel, 25 South 200 East, Kaysville. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and at the church Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family extends a special thank-you to the Home Care Staff, and especially to Denise and Julie.
